Our long curl wig is made with human hair. Like natural hair, its curl pattern may relax or become looser after washing, especially with lightened or colored hair. This is a natural characteristic of human hair and does not necessarily mean the hair has lost its curl memory. With proper care and a little restyling, you can bring back those beautiful, defined spiral curls!
How to Care for Your Curly Wig
1. Wash Gently:
- Use sulfate-free shampoo and moisturizing conditioner.
- Gently wash in a downward motion without rubbing, twisting, or tangling the hair.
- Avoid excessive washing and harsh products.
2. Detangle with Care:
- Apply a leave-in conditioner or curl-friendly detangling product.
- Gently detangle from the ends upward using your fingers or a wide-tooth comb.
- Avoid brushing the hair when dry, as this may cause frizz and loosen the curl definition.
3. Restore Your Spiral Curls:
- After washing, gently squeeze out excess water with a towel and let the hair air-dry partially.
- Apply a heat protectant before styling.
- Use a curling iron at a low-to-moderate temperature, starting around 250-300°F (120-150°C), and test a small section first.
- Curl small sections in the original spiral pattern, allow them to cool completely, then gently separate the curls with your fingers.
4. Protect Your Investment:
- Minimize frequent heat styling to help preserve the hair's softness and condition.
- Store your wig carefully when not in use, keeping the curls loosely arranged to prevent tangling.
